Join us for a day of education, networking, and fun!
The VRPA is hosting a new leadership summit this year that will offer the opportunity for parks & recreation professionals to come together to learn and be inspired from local leaders in a variety of niche sectors. We will have education sessions that apply to anyone currently working in the field, while also bringing you new, unique niches to learn from! We will have education tracks in Youth Sports, Summer Camps, and Outdoor Recreation - Hunting/Fishing, along with other broad leadership topics.

Certified Youth Sports Administrator
NAYS has partnered with the VRPA to offer a dynamic, high-impact Training open to all sports and recreation staff—no matter your role, title, or level of experience. We hope you will join us and please share with others in your organization or community that may benefit from this can’t miss education!
There are two ways to take advantage of NAYS being at the May 20th Leadership Summit and all participants (sports, athletics and recreational staff/administrators in any position) will gain valuable information, knowledge and to network with others from around the region. Topics covered will include:
• Intro to Recreation and Sports Administration
• Our Leadership Role in Positive Sports
• Promoting Sportsmanship
• Interacting with Parents, Volunteers, Participants and Leagues
• Safety Issues
• Resources & Tools to Ensure Quality Youth Sports!
Registration Option #1
General registration for the Leadership Retreat $75 per person. This is for anyone who will benefit from professional development and networking. Participants will receive written materials, CEUs, and access to the four sessions being offered at the summit.
Registration Option #2
General registration + become a Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) - additional $350 per person. Those interested in earning the industry recognized CYSA designation will receive immediate online access to the Academy for Youth Sports Administrators to earn certification at the conclusion of the in-person training. This is an incredible value since the regular registration to just earn the CYSA designation is usually $450!

Adult + Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is designed to train rescuers to respond to medical emergencies in adults, children, and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over. Participants will be trained to recognize breathing and cardiac emergencies, and to respond to such emergencies by performing CPR, using an AED, and providing any other appropriate care until medical personnel arrive. Participants will learn the proper response to sudden illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, and seizures. This training also includes a foundation of first aid for other injuries such as burns and external bleeding. You will receive your First Aid Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED certifications.
This is a blended learning course — there is a roughly 3-hour online training to be completed before the course. Participants must be 15 years old by the final day of class.
Additional $75 per person.
