Vermont Recreation and Parks Association Is Hiring our Next Executive Director!

The VRPA Executive Committee is pleased to open the application process for our next Executive Director. This Interim role is a two year position, with potential for extension after the interim period. 

The Executive Director of the Vermont Recreation and Parks Association (VRPA) serves as the organization's chief administrative and strategic leader, responsible for advancing the Association's mission through organizational growth, member engagement, financial stewardship, and operational excellence. Working collaboratively with the Executive Committee, the Executive Director provides visionary leadership to strengthen and expand the Association's membership, programs, partnerships, and statewide impact. This position fosters sustainable organizational development by implementing strategic initiatives, securing new funding opportunities, enhancing member services and professional development, overseeing effective communications, and representing VRPA at the state and national levels. The Executive Director ensures the Association remains a vibrant, responsive, and financially sustainable resource for Vermont's parks, recreation, and trail professionals while positioning the organization for continued growth and long-term success. 

The Interim Executive Director will be employed for up to 30 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $33.00 per hour. This is a fully remote role, but residence in Vermont is strongly preferred.
