In 2010, the Vermont Recreation and Parks Association re-introduced the annual Maintenance Workshop. We were happy to bring back this workshop designed specifically for the men and women who maintain our parks and recreation facilities.
In 2009, the Maintenance Workshop was held at Middlebury College. The schedule included a full morning of small group site visits to a variety of indoor and outdoor athletic and recreation facilities available at Middlebury College. After lunch, delegates chose three of six available roundtable discussions about specific maintenance topics.
The delegate evaluations confirmed that this event provided a good opportunity to network with volunteer counterparts from around the state about issues you face in the maintenance end of parks and recreation services in your community.
The registration fee for the Maintenance Workshop is subsidized with funds from the Annual Governor's Conference Silent Auction to make it more affordable and hopefully accessible to everyone.
The date and location for the 2011 Maintenance Workshop have yet to be determined and will be posted as soon as they are available.
